- A Bachelor's Degree in mechanical or electrical engineering (or similar degree), or 5 years of experience in an engineering function
- A minimum of two years of machine design, build and run off experience.
- Experience with Project Management, establishing and maintaining efficient project organization, providing technical direction, providing effective feedback to teams, raising issues and problems as necessary, and prioritizing with the ability to drive projects to completion
- Strong background in materials and their proper application in metal-based product design
- Understanding of metal stamping tooling and manufacturing methods, welding, and assembly
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint)
- Computer proficiency using Solid Works to design and develop products
- Knowledge of mechanical drafting standards and geometric dimension and tolerancing (GD&T), with the ability to review electronic documentation and specifications, including Computer Aided Design (CAD) data, part print information, global engineering standards, and specifications
- Experience with AIAG Core Tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA)
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Ability and willingness to work in a team-based environment

- Direct engineering research and design phases for various projects.
- Assist in the design of project objectives that will meet the determined requirements.
- Evaluate engineering data, with technical guidance from Project/Tooling Engineers, Development Engineers, Manager and other senior personnel, to ensure successful progress and completion of assignments.
- Coordinate project phases with designers, drafters, and technicians in order to complete assignments.
- Evaluate ongoing projects, make recommendations and direct necessary changes in the methods or processes, by utilizing innovation and creativity.
- Practice prudent engineering and effectively apply formal engineering training to add to the overall effectiveness of the Engineering Group and enhance the company's positions within the product line.
- Lead mid to high-level concept exploration projects providing direction and guidance to less experienced/proficient engineering personnel.
- Produce/evaluate new designs and components to improve quality, cost and performance based on specialized knowledge of engineering principles with the support of other functional engineers, manufacturing, supply management, and other personnel.
- Research, evaluate, and identify new materials, product sources, equipment, components, and processes.
- Develop components drawings and prototypes.
- Analyze specifications, verifications, and validations of product requirements with particular focus on the customer and end user.
- Provide technical support to sales team and customers.
- Analyze customer's technical requirements and coordination across company departments and unit, to determine the most appropriate solution.
- Design and develop complex manufacturing schematics and processes.
- Resolve complex manufacturing-related problems affecting daily operations.
- Analyze production methods, processes and operations to determine manufacturing modifications that will enhance production efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts in the areas of safety, line productivity, process capability and line capacity.
- Provide leadership to improve work processes, to utilize new technologies, to meet business needs and to implement best practices.
- Implement and advance quality control practices.
- Devise and implement methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating products, processes and production equipment.
- Utilize statistical tools to identify root causes and improve processes.
- Provide input regarding quality to product development teams; recommend "producibility" improvements by facilitating process reviews, manufacturing methods, equipment tooling and training.
- Effectively communicate with co-workers and management personnel to enhance teamwork and communication initiatives.
- Provide necessary, accurate, and timely feedback of all pertinent information to co-workers and management.
