By bringing together behavioural science, technology, and incredible people, our grand mission is to eradicate the global epidemic of chronic lifestyle diseases once and for all.Our digital habit change programme – delivered digitally through mobile and web apps – helps people to improve their lifestyle, lose weight, and ultimately reduce their risk for conditions such as type 2 diabetes.We’re also one of the few consumer health brands that are also actively commissioned by the NHS (for us, it’s to help people living with type 2 diabetes).You can find out more about working with us and .The roleAs the business scales we seek a part-time addition to our finance team, responsible for aspects including receivables management, month-end close, drafting management accounts, supporting with audits, budgets, and updating financial models. This role aims to free up our Finance Lead for strategic initiatives and will be for 3 days a week.We are looking for a detail-oriented, hard-working individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels autonomously, and collaborates effectively within a team.We are currently working on a hybrid basis, with Mondays and Thursdays in our West London Office.What you'll do:
  • Prepare accurate monthly management accounts for review by the Finance Lead (tasks involve balance sheet reconciliations and monthly revenue calculations)
  • Support the Finance Lead with the year-end audit
  • Own the receivables process (Raise invoices, chase overdue sale invoices, respond to customer queries liaise with the NHS team as necessary, receivables updates)
  • First point of contact for NHS team finance queries.
  • Own the Finance tasks on Spendesk (Spend Management Platform)
  • Update financial models with actuals
  • Update our weekly MI dashboard
  • Prepare payment run for review
  • Regular investor reporting
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Monthly ONS surveys
  • Update charts for Board pack
  • Assist in streamlining processes
  • Additional ad-hoc duties when required
Requirements
  • You have a minimum 3 years of experience
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • You are interested in becoming an accountant and are actively studying towards a professional accountancy qualification.
  • Experienced in using accounting software (Xero preferred)
  • You are comfortable using Google Sheets / Excel and are eager to develop these skills through self-learning and support
  • You are a self-starter who can come in and hit the ground running and take ownership of their area.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • You are a good communicator
  • You're data-driven with high attention to detail and are comfortable with working in a constantly changing environment
