Interested in getting hands-on experience in the human services field? Alexander Youth Network/Youth Focus is seeking qualified applicants to serve in our Youth Crisis Shelter, Act Together in our Greensboro location and provide direct service to youth residing in the program.The Youth Focus program, Act Together Crisis Care, is a residential program that serves youth experiencing homelessness, in foster care, or in crisis, ages 11-17. The program provides a structured, therapeutic environment including basic need support, life-skills, recreation, crisis intervention, case management, family mediation, and more. The program takes referrals 24/7, 365 days a year and runs the Safe Place Program for Guilford, Davidson, and Randolph County.Part-Time: Crisis Care Professional: 3rd shift 11pm-7am
Schedule Sundays, Mondays, and TuesdaysMust be able to attend an orientation and complete all onboarding requirements.SUMMARYThe Crisis Care Professional must demonstrate the Agency's purpose, philosophy, policies, and procedures. The individual in this position will provide support to youth ages 11-17 in a residential youth shelter.ESSENTIAL DUTIES. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Provides awake direct care throughout the night, performing 15-minute safety checks.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation, including service plans, client assessments and verbal/written summary of each resident at shift change.
  • Direct care staff provide quality services in accordance with Handle with Care, crisis intervention methods and regulations, Joint Commission standards and agency policies.
  • Direct care staff will demonstrate the ability to function safely, professionally, and ethically without the benefit of direct supervision. This includes serving as resident advocate, providing referrals, facilitating individual and group sessions and case management.
  • Maintains neat and safe work environment.
  • Answer and respond to phone calls, including crisis calls.
  • Responsible for overseeing the administration of doctor-referred medication to residents.
  • Attendance: Has minimal occurrences of unscheduled absences or lateness
