We would prefer a Social worker who has experience of working with foster carers and exposure to Form F assessments.The Role
  • To assess and prepare prospective foster parents
  • To counsel out those applicants not suitable for the organisation
  • To prepare Form F reports for panel
  • To present assessments to foster panel
  • An high standard assessment is required within specified timescales.
Requirements of Applicants
  • Eligible to work in the UK
  • A UK driving licence, own transport, and willingness to travel
  • A social work qualification CQSW
  • Up to date DBS check
  • Social care Wales Registration
  • A sound understanding of safeguarding issues
  • A minimum of 2 years post qualifying work experience in children's services
  • An ability to produce highly professional reports which are evidence based and with an emphasis on analysis
  • IT skills commensurate with producing high quality reports and associated documents
  • The ability and flexibility to manage your time, prioritise and organise your workload and to work to strict deadlines
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends to fit in with applicants in full time employment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and an eye for detail
  • A thorough knowledge of the complex needs of traumatised children and how these can be met in a fostering household
  • To monitor relevant checks received and inform us of any delays
  • Knowledge of Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards
Desirable
  • Previous experience of completing Form F assessments
