The tax department has the overall responsibility for the Husqvarna Group’s North American ("NA") tax operations, including oversight and administration of income, franchise, property, and sales and use tax compliance and planning. The Accounting Specialist – Sales Tax maintains tax records and prepares tax returns, related schedules, and related reports. The position prepares documents for state and local level returns in all operational states. The position assists in handling state and local tax notices.What You Need to Know:
  • Prepares and files state and local sales and use tax returns and various other tax filings and related research activities.
  • Assists with state and local tax audits, including meeting with auditors, data collection and analysis, and resolution.
  • Reconcile data for audits and/or auditors, internal and external.
  • Analyze and interpret tax regulations and prepare required tax reports so that the organization meets its tax obligations and objectives.
  • Maintains an in-depth knowledge of state and local sales and use tax laws, legislation and current developments.
  • Analyze and interpret tax laws and regulations in order to prepare policies, processes and procedures to ensure compliance. Ability to be able to continuously improve the process.
  • Prepares and completes tax notice resolution.
  • Analyze data from internal systems to ensure adherence to all state and federal tax laws. In situations of data peculiarities, will provide solutions for resolution.
  • Performs various projects as assigned by management.
What We Are Looking For:
  • Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance
  • Four (4) or more years of experience in the tax field or related area, with at least two (2) years focusing on multi-state sales tax
  • Knowledge of MS Office Software applications, including Excel. Must exhibit strong Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in the tax field.
  • Demonstrated ability to address and properly complete, simultaneous projects on time.
  • Hard working, self-starter, performance-oriented, resourceful and able to meet the demands of a diverse business environment in a timely, accurate and efficient manner.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Software applications, including Excel. Must exhibit strong Excel skills.
  • Exhibited analytical capability.
  • Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
  • Ability to establish working relationships with key internal and external customers.

  • Strong problem-solving capability
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize issues, identify root cause and develop solutions.
  • Knowledge and experience with sales tax return software preferred
