This is an exciting opportunity for an outstanding Community Services Manager to drive Council's community services across the Kaipara district.

About the opportunityThe Manager Community Services role is pivotal in driving the development of programs and services across vital sectors such as culture, recreation, and facility management within the Kaipara community. This is a unique opportunity to drive positive change and enhance community well-being by identifying needs, developing impactful programs, and ensuring effective service delivery across various Council facilities.Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing Kaipara's community services encompassing libraries, parks, campgrounds, and other facilities
  • Developing and executing diverse programs to meet community needs
  • Creating Business Plans aligned with Council strategy
  • Efficiently allocating resources to support community services
  • Surveying and investigating community feedback for service enhancement.
In addition, you'll lead customer service efforts, oversee financial management, and provide people leadership to ensure high-quality service delivery and community satisfaction.About youThe ideal candidate will have proven significant experience in leading community services and developing programs, and will excel in cultivating positive relationships, adeptly solving problems, and negotiating and influencing effectively. You will also possess financial acumen and be able to demonstrate a commitment to coaching and mentoring teams.In addition, you will have:
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated success in people leadership roles, including guiding teams through change
  • Proven experience managing budgets and external contracts
  • A solid understanding of relevant legislation, with local government experience being advantageous.
