Campari Group is today the sixth-largest player worldwide in the premium spirits industry.General Description of the RoleAs a Quality and Food Safety Compliance Manager, you will develop and support the implementation of quality processes and food safety requirements to ensure compliance within the EMEA Region. You will work closely with R&D, Packaging, Quality Plant, Innovation, and Marketing to develop the quality assurance framework and product quality standards for key innovation projects.Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Critical to Quality requirements for innovative products based on product concept, brand quality expectation, and consumer research findings.
  • Ensure quality and food safety compliance of new products introductions through validation of products, processes, and new technologies.
  • Collaborate with R&D on the development and implementation of product design and process validation plans, protocols, and technical standards.
  • Support project teams to develop and implement products, processes, new technologies, and solutions in compliance with external regulations and internal standards and procedures.
  • Apply risk management tools (FMEA) for design, development, and qualification of new materials, products, and processes.
  • Work closely with manufacturing sites on the implementation of the Campari Group QFS Policies, guidelines, and standards.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to ensure Quality and Food Safety compliance.
  • Provide training and support for spoilage and pathogens risk assessment.
  • Drive the artwork management process for all printed packaging materials.
  • Support prototype development and review and approve based on validation testing.
  • Provide input and governance for technical reviews and approvals from Quality.
  • Ensure hygienic conditions are maintained throughout the manufacturing process.
  • Support the management of plant performance metrics relating to Quality and Food Safety.
  • Provide input to the selection and qualification of supplier quality capability.
  • Apply and promote continuous improvement of processes and procedures to guarantee food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide support as an industrial hygienist/microbiologist in the development and validation of product-specific guidelines and tools.
  • Contribute to annual capital and budget planning on topics related to FS&Q.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Food Microbiology, or equivalent Applied Science. Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 8+ years of experience in Managing Quality and Food Safety compliance in the FMCG and/or Beverage sector within multinational companies.
  • Fluent in English and Italian. Any other language is a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of Thermal Process, Preservation Systems, Carbonated Soft Drinks, Aseptic Product Category, and Hygienic Design.
  • Solid experience with manufacturing operations and Quality Assurance (preferably with practical experience as Food safety-hygienist expert, R&D or manufacturing function).
  • Proven track record in risk assessment and management, including risk identitification tools and communication processes with solid knowledge of HACCP and microbial potential hazards.
  • Solid knowledge of FSSC 22000 and/or ISO 22000 requirements.
  • Proven experience in Project Management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to communicate with large groups of people.
  • Lean/Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Good leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Team player with cultural sensitivity and flexibility.
