The Role:This is an important role, delivering programmes of work relating to the delivery of safe, accessible and welcoming services across the council’s marina, Bereavement Services and green spaces through the development and delivery of successful contracts, leases and operational strategies.Key priorities include Leading on the development of strategies and business planning for the Marina, Bereavement Services and an extensive portfolio of assets that sit within the Parks and Natural Environment Team ensuring that they meet the needs of all sections of the community, deliver service excellence, demonstrate continuous improvement and are financially sustainable.Ensuring the effective procurement, negotiation, renewal and management of all leases, service level agreements and contracts for all the available assets across the Natural Environment Business Unit Managing and implementing the robust monitoring of all the statutory compliance and health and safety across over 50 assets. The role will require significant energy, enthusiasm and determination; you will be driven to ensure that the areas of responsibility deliver outstanding services.As the Parks and Natural Environment Asset Manager, you will maintain and develop the service as a centre of excellence, taking the professional leadership role for the Council across all these areas.About SouthwarkWe are the largest local authority social landlord in London, managing 55,000 homes lived in by 40% of Southwark’s residents. We want someone who has the experience and drive to build on what’s good and to have a laser focus on how to make it even better.We are looking for someone who has excellent property and asset portfolio management knowledge. You’ll need experience of managing services like these at a senior level and importantly, you’ll need in-depth knowledge and practical experience of driving service improvement and innovation.Ideally, you will be qualified to degree level or equivalent, with direct experience of most of the following services areas – statutory building compliance, asset health and safety management, risk management, lease and contracts management and how all of these can contribute to and impact on the services we offer our residents.Additional salary detailsFrom flexible working to job sharing (where possible) we are committed to providing a healthy work life balance.You will benefit from 33 days basic annual leave (plus bank holidays), rising to 36 days with continuous service, a generous local government salary related pension, cycle to work and cycle loan scheme, season-ticket loan, confidential wellbeing and counselling support.
