Job Description:The CHUBB Middle Market Property & Package team underwrite business for customers with a turnover typically up to $500m. The team operate out of the CHUBB London office and write business in both the UK and Multinational sectors. Continuing profitable growth is a key priority for the business, with a focus on aligning the changing needs and wants of customers with sound underwriting judgement and risk selection.With dedicated market leading performance, the Middle Market Property & Package team is primed for further growth and we are now seeking an Underwriter to join the team.The key purpose of the role is to Underwrite both new and renewal business in support of business plan objectives for retention and growth. Key activities of the job holder are:
  • Day to day management of an agreed broker panel and renewal book.
  • To underwrite existing renewal accounts, solve broker enquires and build lasting client relationships.
  • Renewal meetings, broker pipeline and general business development activities in support of the continued growth of the product line.
  • To work closely with the business development managers to assist with broker enquires and developing new opportunities and relationships
  • To work closely with underwriters in other lines of business across the UK&I to maximise cross sell opportunities
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with driving the UKI Package business growth and profitability through focussed distribution and marketing activities.
  • Underwrite a sustainable balance of business in support of UKIs Package revenue, profitability, growth and production objectives.
  • Maximising opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling within Chubb UK&I through internal marketing at cross class meetings and relationship management.
  • Develop and manage key external producer relationships.
Qualifications:The role is suitable for a self-motivated, confident and dynamic individual. Key requirements for the role include;
  • Experience of underwriting Commercial Property and Casualty Package business
  • Experience in business development
  • Developing market profile with London Brokers
  • Adaptable and resilient to changes in market conditions/business requirements
  • Strong team player and ability to build strong relationships quickly.
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills
  • ACII preferred though not essential
  • A Levels or higher
