Managing the total production in Delfzijl so that the panels are produced according to plan and within a safe and environmentally friendly environment, in the most (cost) efficient way and according to the right quality requirements.Job content
Directs the production department at the Delfzijl plant to ensure that the planned production runs as efficiently as possible
  • In consultation with the Operations Manager, define and pursue objectives within the production
  • In collaboration with the Manager Operations & CIP, develop a long-term vision for the production (Performance plan)
  • Managing the different shifts within production
  • Working closely with the responsibilities of supply chain, process and quality department, maintenance, HSE and continuous improvement
  • The implementation of quality, safety and environmental regulations and production objectives and the monitoring of improvements and active support
  • Follow-up production results and adjust where necessary, formulate and facilitate improvement proposals
  • Coordinate analysis of production problems and drive solutions
  • Monitoring and optimising man- and machine yields and cost price
  • Leading the morning meeting and making sure the right content is in place
  • Responsibility for the correct and timely administration of production figures
Managing and coaching employees
  • Continuous evaluation and adjustment of the production organization
  • Supporting, advising and supervising the duty supervisors with regard to their work
  • Conducting evaluation interviews
  • Solving interpersonal problems with all production staff
  • In consultation with HR, follow up on absenteeism due to illness and propose actions for improvement
  • Organising/organising training on the use of new machines and on-the-job training of employees in this
Visual management
  • Visual management
  • Properly define KPIs and manage accordingly and follow up on actions
  • Responsible for the correct entry and administration of production and quality data generated in production.
Drawing up and managing budgets
  • Drawing up production budgets
  • Continuous monitoring of Opex, CDTs
  • Analyzing budgets and making adjustments if possible
Critical success factors
  • Safety: Number of accidents, leading and lagging safety indicators
  • Quality: failure rates; complaints/Mm2
  • Opex: achieving budget, reducing costs, OEE
  • Employee absenteeism, PTO
  • Preparing and supervising audits
Job Requirements
  • Minimum education and diploma: HTS+ (preferably WO) focused on (process) technology + management
  • Minimum experience: 10 years of experience as a manager in a production environment
  • Language skills: Good oral and written knowledge of English and excellent knowledge of Dutch
  • Required certificates: VCA-vol
Additional Skills
  • Knowledge of the production environment at Etex BP Farmsum and the different machines, production line, etc.
