Learn more atWe’re growing fast and invite you to join our amazing team.Descartes is seeking a Product Analyst for the European TMS products, including global rollouts. Customers of these products and services are typically global and regional shippers and Logistics Service Providers such as 4PLs (4th Party Logistics Service Provider).This position writes feature requirements and creates user stories based on customer, market, and internal requirements, including sessions with mostly internal stakeholders. The successful candidate discusses the user stories and feature requirements with the product manager, product owner, software architect, and members of the development team. The person participates as a product management representative in Scrum meetings when applicable.Leads the translation of software features into technical requirements and follows Agile Scrum-based Software development. The position works closely with the TMS development, implementation, and support teams in the Netherlands, Belgium, Eastern Europe, and Nordics, and less frequently with other teams in Europe, North-America, or other locations. The person reports to the Director of product management for TMS, carrier connectivity, and ports in Europe.Responsibilities:
  • Assess value, develop cases, and help prioritize stories, epics, and themes to ensure work focuses on those with maximum value that are aligned with product strategy.
  • Clear defined Acceptance Criteria per feature, including the definition of test scenario’s
  • World Class Program & Project Execution.
  • Effective Agile Processes (Scrum and Agile Hybrid) and Cross-Functional communication.
  • Efficient and Effective Solution Delivery Process.
  • Promotes Continuous Improvement, including process improvement
Scope:
  • Responsible for conversion of internal and external customer requests into feature descriptions and user stories.
  • Responsible for detailing functionalities as part of the product modernization and core application functionality.
  • Analyze the current customer integrations and settings in the applications and propose functionality to further standardize and streamline the customer implementation and onboarding process.
  • Responsible for weekly reports to Product Management translating weekly Scrum activities for broader audiences.
  • Manage the backlog for sprint and release planning post-development start through QA.
  • Assist to create and update relevant product documentation, such as product specifications, user manual, and release notes.
  • This position will also raise risks/impediments to the Product Manager, Product Owner, and Software Architect.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in business, computer science, or related field; master’s preferred.
  • Two years of previous experience as a product owner, business analyst, or in a related field.
  • Certification for Pragmatic Marketing or Product Ownership is preferred but not required.
  • Solid understanding of the product lifecycle.
  • In-depth understanding of Agile methodologies, technical understanding of products, and up-to-date on industry standards and best practices.
  • Proficient computer skills, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel); working knowledge of software development.
  • Comfortable working with multiple teams, in-house and remote.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Very good knowledge of the English language.
  • Accurate and precise attention to detail.
  • Able to build strong interpersonal relationships with business analysts, UI/UX team, leadership, senior management, and internal and external stakeholders.
  • A significant depth of knowledge of the multi-modal transportation processes of global shippers is preferred but not required.
Location:This position will be based out of our office in Woerden, however the person can be located in other locations in Europe.Join Us
