Alstom also supports 66% of the UK fleet through its Services business and is the UK's leading CP6 signalling & infrastructure provider.Employing 6,000 people across the UK and Ireland, we design, build and test trains at the UK's largest end-to-end train manufacturing factory in Derby and operate major sites at Widnes, Crewe, Ilford and Plymouth, as well as 30 train services depots across the UK&I.Your future roleAn exciting position is available in our DIS Industrial Team supporting activities across Plymouth and Hatfield.As a key member of the team, you will support the translation of engineering data (eBOM) into manufacturing data (mBOM) in the companies integrated new tools that we are currently migrating too (Orchestra, PLM Enovia, SAP GSI etc.). Your role will be to provide technical support to all the Industrialisation team for Legacy, Serial and New Products. Your role will also be to support the Industrial Key Users to provide training in the industrial tools and ensure process compliance and quality standards to all manufacturing documentation. In addition, the role will involve the management of the calibration process to ensure all our tools and measurement devices are calibrated on time to ensure minimum impact on production operations.You will be working in a busy team where priorities can change daily, where attention to detail and good organisation will be key.We'll look to you to:
  • Ensure part number availability and related documentation from PLM to ERP aiming to place manufacturing and/or purchase orders for delivering to Customer in due time.
  • Ensure that the industrial Master Data are well implemented in the different systems (Orchestra, PLM, ERP, MES)
  • Support the implementation of new IT systems and their updates.
  • Support the Industrial Key Users in terms of training, process adherance and maintaining a high quality of manufacturing documentation.
  • Management of Calibration Equipment
  • Manage technical data for all part involved in project execution to ensure all these parts are available in project PLM (mBoM) and ERP with relevant properties at expected date to launch manufacturing and purchase order.
  • Collect, update & crosscheck information between Project teams (PrIDM) and Products(PIM) team to define and secure exact scope of part to be used by Project (Part Number, Revision, Type, Owner, Origin, ...)
  • Perform all action/request in Alstom Database dedicated to BoM management to ensure part code availability in project ERP division (subscription, modification, creation request, …)
  • Launch/follow any necessary action with other metier in project team: buyer, logistic, engineering, industrial quality to enrich data in ERP division for manufacturing and purchase order
  • Ensure data consistency between the different IT systems: ORCHESTRA, PLM, ERP
  • Make sure that part number are managed though Signalling standards (Component On Specification, Common Codification rules, product standard code usage, ...)
  • Manage the impacts of engineering and process changes in the systems.
  • Set-up effectivity for application of the changes.
  • Provide on due time routings and assembly instructions.
  • Deliver on due time industrial files and data to suppliers.
  • Apply ORCHESTRA, PLM and ERP standard processes.
  • Support technical change on PLM and ERP.
  • Ensure accuracy of BoM.

  • In depth experience in Operations, Industrial or Supply Chain department, on electronics, electrical or mechanical devices.
  • Strong experience in data management:
  • Part or BoM creation/update/enrichment with dedicated database/tools ERP (SAP GSI), ORCHESTRA, PLM (Enovia, Teamcenter)
  • Configuration management, routings and assembly instructions.
  • Basic knowledge of Engineering design and Supply Chain.
  • Operational effectiveness / Accountability

  • Relationships with Engineering teams.
  • Availability, accurate and resilient.
