We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our happy and friendly school in a very rewarding role, supporting teaching and learning in a Key Stage 2 classroom. Additionally, we are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Breakfast Club Supervisor to take responsibility for leading our Breakfast Club.About the roleThe successful Teaching Assistant candidate will:
Be able to relate to children and support teaching and learning
Be capable and flexible
Have good communication skills
Have an understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Have good numeracy/literacy/ICT skills
Be an enthusiastic member of our team who can work flexibly and independently, understanding classroom roles and responsibilities and your own position within these
Be committed to promoting the ethos of our school
Desirable skills, abilities and experience:
Experience of working with Key Stage 1 or 2 children
NVQ2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification or experience
Understanding of relevant policies/codes of practice and awareness of relevant legislation
Ability to relate to children and adults, in particular, to engage sympathetically with children with SEN
The Breakfast Club Supervisor will:
Be capable, flexible and enthusiastic
Knowledge of relevant procedures and associated legislation (e.g. health and safety, first aid, food hygiene)
Be prepared to complete a certificate in food safety (training will be provided)
Knowledge of child protection issues and procedures
The skill to assist with pupil welfare duties and liaise with and relate well with parents and staff
Breakfast Club duties will include:
Ordering breakfast club food and resources
Preparing food onsite
Maintaining food health and safety checks and records
Welcoming children in to the club daily
Ensuring children have a relaxed start to the day
Ensuring children eat a healthy breakfast before school starts
