- Stay flexible working within a small team across the creation and integration of characters, environments, and props.
- Working closely with the Art Director, you will collaborate with designers, artists, code, Materials, VFX and Lighting departments to define and deliver game assets and environments to a high standard.
- Use your expertise in a variety of 3D game Art areas to guide our working practices from iterative prototyping to final best-in-class execution.
- Contribute to artifacts (creation briefs, presentations) to guide the work of internal and external artists.
- Remain current on industry trends including advancement in commercial game engines and workflow efficiencies.
- 8+ years of experience in AAA 3D art.
- Proven experience, having shipped a major title in a relevant role.
- Experience working with a AAA game engine with strong understanding of implementation and integration into the pipeline.
- Comprehensive understanding of environment and character art creation including strong proficiency in industry-standard 3D workflows and innovative techniques.
- A portfolio with examples and detailed breakdowns, showcasing your practical work.
- Strong understanding of authoring PBR-compliant materials.
- Experience working with engineers to develop pipelines and collaborate on new technology.
- Ability to create both high-resolution 3D sculpts and final low polygon game assets for highly creative worlds, characters, and creatures.
- Partnering with other artists, designers, and tech artists to collaborate on creative solutions to solve complex pipeline problems and bring assets to life.
- Comprehensive understanding of form, shape, structure, silhouette, details and surfacing, and everything else needed to make a believable asset.
- Ability to craft versatile modular components as well as fully unique assets.
- A team-oriented approach to your work, understanding the importance of collaboration, and partnering with all departments.
- The ability to inspire others with an enthusiastic approach to game development and improving core skills.
- Self-motivated and detail-conscious approach to work.
- Experience working through early development R&D phases of a project is a plus.
- Experience mentoring other artists professionally and artistically is useful.
- Solid understanding of game art creation outside of 3D assets and implementation (e.g. Concept, Lighting, VFX, Animation, Rendering).
- An interest in photography and cinema.
- Experience creating and handling photogrammetry and scan data.
- Expertise in 3D composition, form, balance, and color theory.
- You have an exceptional understanding of the world around you, and a keen eye towards developing alluring and captivating worlds and characters that draw the player in.
- Knowing the latest and greatest modeling, sculpting, and procedural techniques, as well as knowing how to use them optimally to create game-ready art.
- Passion for playing a variety of video games.
