Offer DescriptionThe activity will be focused on steel structures, and in particular on the ones made with cold-formed elements and with a single axis of symmetry, therefore subjected to the warping torsion. In detail, it is intended to increase the state-of-knowledge related to the behaviour of isolated members and complete structural systems, also with seismic actions. Experimental analyses addressed to investigate the most significant response mechanisms, will be followed by refined numerical simulations considering both geometrical and mechanical non-linearities, in order to replicate the experimental results. Further studies will allow for improving the reliability and the flexibility in the use of the design approaches currently adopted, which are efficient only for members having the cross-section with two axes of symmetry.
