Title: Global Strategic Sourcing Director (GSSD) External Resources & Mobility ServicesCompany: Ipsen Pharma (SAS)Job Description:The Global Strategic Sourcing Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and leading the Global Sourcing strategy for the External Resources & Mobility Services, with an indicative portfolio spend of c. 150M€ & anticipated significant future growth. He/she will provides global leadership to his/her spend area with the whole Procurement Organisation and 2 Direct Reports (1 Global Category Leader & 1 Global Category Buyer) and supporting the Outsourced Travel Manager , developing Global Categories strategy, securing contractual agreements to meet business needs across a range of activities, and driving actions to optimize quality, delivery lead times, cost, efficiency, and simplification through strategic supplier relationships.The Global Strategic Sourcing Director leads a functional area of a major spend segment, such as Human Resources categories, Professionals Services, Car Fleet Management and Travel services. He/she translates concepts, considers strategic options, develops tactics, and implements changes. He/she creates programs responsive to external environment and participates in cross-functional topics.Main responsibilities / job expectationsEssential General ResponsibilitiesManage and develop a team of global category leaders / category buyersPart of stakeholders’ leadership teamsSet the strategy for own Sourcing / Categories area, with emphasis on creating added value through sourcing to meet overall business goals and applies appropriate strategic & tactical solutions to deliver the business needs.Engage, partner, and collaborate with Business Stakeholders and across Ipsen divisions to ensure delivery of business stakeholders’ expectations together with business priorities and objectives.Drive his categories in achieving procurement targets: significant improvements in supplier performance on quality and on time delivery; developing partnership with key suppliers to deliver sustainable competitiveness; playing global on categories while optimizing local.Improve operational excellence and reducing cost; engage & align with key internal stakeholders (Procurement BP & Business stakeholders) to identify opportunities and then drives the execution of Strategic Sourcing initiatives to meet cost improvement targets.Drive a cohesive Global Categories strategy to optimize business benefit from global contracts whilst providing scope for adaptation to meet market challenges; leads key categories and other major strategic negotiations as appropriate.Participate in the cross functional cost out activities across the business by working in close collaboration with functional partners in Global HR, Corporate, Travel Community and across divisions Organizations to improve competitiveness and performance.Ensure consistent adoption of agreed procurement tools, methodologies and frameworks (SRM, Preferred vendors, Procurement policy, etc.). Ensure customization is kept to necessary minimum and stop any attempt to develop new/specific/local methods/definitions/methodologies. Be the proactive partner of the CoE in driving consistency.Drive partnership mind-set across the Procurement organizationDevelop staff to ensure high caliber individuals with thought leadership and development potential. Facilitate career paths of procurement staff, specifically Global Category leader and Global Category buyer under her/his responsibilities. Ensure diversity of thought and inclusive team work.Lead and develop Ipsen Way, ensuring effective communication across the Procurement organization, engaging with team members to ensure understanding and alignment with operational goals.Participate in procurement transformation initiativesCategory ManagementProvide thought leadership on categories through active competitive / market intelligenceDevelop category expertise through implementation of robust processes (category management, supplier relationship management) and regular adaptation of category outputs.Design best in class category plan / strategies based on robust facts, data and analysis, that will deliver across all value dimensions (financial, risk, quality, supply, reputation).Develop and drive preferred vendor panels and supplier base rationalization.Deliver financial, quality, supply and risk mitigation objectives.Manage strategic relationships with vendors to maximize value and minimize risks for Ipsen, using appropriate SRM framework.Direct staff in the development of global and / or regional category strategies for categories in chargeSupport Procurement business partners, manufacturing plants and/or country teams to implement strategies and involve business partners in strategy design.Develop & drive “sustainable procurement” initiatives in own categories in collaboration with stakeholdersBusiness PartneringPartner with business stakeholders in the design, build and implementation of adequate sourcing plansDevelop a robust and trusted stakeholders management with Key Executive leaders and ultimately be part of stakeholders’ leadership or extended leadership teamsDrive identification and validation of potential value creation opportunities.Actively engage with executive stakeholders for category strategies buy-in and implementation.Ensure consistent adoption of agreed procurement tools, methodologies and frameworksKnowledge, abilities & experienceExperience & Qualifications:Master’s degree in Business Administration or Procurement studies or Engineering is preferred.Fluency in EnglishStrong experience (8 to 10 years) of leading global sourcing & procurement activities in a complex multi-national organization with a strong negotiation skillset, able to drive parallel processes to meet often conflicting demands.Outstanding interpersonal and leadership skills, capable of influencing and driving a strategic change agenda across the organization.Change agent, with strong credibility at all levels of the organization.
