Job DescriptionControl, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer - Utrecht, NetherlandsContract Duration: 12 Months (Initially via Agency, transitioning to Direct Employment)Preferred Language Requirement: Dutch SpeakingAs an Engineer specialising in Control, Electrical, and Instrumentation, you will tackle the dynamic challenge of contributing to our innovative steam and hot water boiler projects for a diverse range of clients. In this role, you will take ownership of technology and execution within your domain, ranging from smaller-scale tasks to multimillion-dollar projects. Your responsibilities encompass a diverse array of tasks at our client.During the project initiation phase, you will provide crucial technical insights in Control, Electrical, and Instrumentation to empower our Sales team in crafting compelling proposals. This involves creating simplified Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and engaging directly with clients to refine project specifications.Subsequently, you will spearhead the development of detailed P&IDs, Controls, Electrical & Instrumentation packages, and functional diagrams for Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC). This entails specifying instrumentation, control valves, electrical components, cabling, lighting, Motor Control Centers (MCC), Building Management Systems (BMS), burner installations, and DCS systems, along with overseeing the associated engineering documentation.You will play a pivotal role in liaising with suppliers of instrumentation and components, as well as panel builders, ensuring adherence to technical requirements and evaluating supplier quotations. Additionally, you may be called upon to assist in on-site testing and commissioning of delivered installations.In essence, you serve as the technical anchor throughout the project lifecycle, from initial proposals to execution and assembly. This role offers considerable autonomy to contribute to our ethos of innovation and our commitment to creating sustainable installations.What we seek:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional training.
  • Proficiency in measurement and control technology, with fluency in Dutch and English.
  • Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD.
  • Knowledge of process (petrochemical) technology or burner installations is advantageous.
  • VCA (full) certification, a valid driver's license (B), and familiarity with NEN 3140 are preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, commercial acumen, creative thinking, and resilience are essential qualities for success in this role.
