1This is a rare opportunity to join the team of mental health professionals who support Gwent Police officers and staff dealing with any mental health incident. The role is both challenging and highly rewarding. The team operates 8am - 2am, 7 days a week and deals with an average of 50 incidents a day.Team members works 6 days on, 4 days off on a rolling shift pattern working alongside police staff in the Force Communications Centre in our new Police Headquarters in Cwmbran.The team's focus is ensuring people in mental health crisis get the most appropriate support from the most appropriate agency and involves extensive inter agency working. As part of the role you will be expected to act as a consultee to officers who are considering use of their powers under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act.
