Deep experience and capability with a genuine care about creating better lives for people along the way.Be part of a team that thrives on rising to the challenge of transforming lives for good.About the project:Gold Coast Light Rail has transformed public transport on the Gold Coast, helping create an integrated network that connects more people to more places in one of Australia's most dynamic and fastest growing cities.John Holland is GoldlinQ's nominated design and construction contractor for GCLR3, to extend the existing light rail network by 6.7kms from Broadbeach to Burleigh Heads, including eight new light rail stations, two new light rail-bus connections, and intersection upgrades along the alignment.Jointly funded by the Australian and Queensland governments, and the City of Gold Coast, this city-shaping project will link communities to business centres, shopping, dining, education and medical facilities and cater to the Gold Coast's expected population growth in the coming decades.As construction of GCLR3 gets under way we have a position available for a talented and driven Temporary Works Coordinator who is interested in progressing their career in Design. Join us here at John Holland and play a key role in the successful delivery of this iconic Gold Coast project.Responsibilities of the role include:
  • Run a weekly meeting with client and key stakeholder representatives to keep them informed on Temporary Works across the project, including status of designs requiring client/stakeholder reviews.
  • Support construction team with development of preferred Construction Method, including identification of opportunities for integration of Temporary Works into Permanent Structure
  • Assist construction team with concept development for Temporary Works design packages (with external consultant input as required)
  • Support construction team with development of Temporary Works Design Briefs
  • Review proposed subcontractor contracts for Temporary Works scope gaps or interface management and ensure subcontractors are aware of the John Holland Temporary Works Manual requirements. Remove Temporary Works design scope from proposed subcontractor packages if they are not best-placed to manage all associated risks.
  • Coordinate design programs to ensure it correctly links all critical path activities to ensure any risk from delays are identified early and addressed accordingly
  • Complete monthly forecasting for Temporary Works design costs
Skills & experience required:
  • Degree in Engineering, Science, Science, Building Construction or equivalent
  • Detailed understanding of various Temporary Works Solutions and relevant design standards
  • Detailed understanding of Temporary Works processes on TMR projects
  • Management of multidisciplinary consultants
