- You will start as a Care Assistant and learn essential care skills in the first three months. At the end of that, you will obtain your Care Skills Certificate, which is recognised nationwide.
- You will then learn how to care for patients with tracheostomies. Once training is completed and you are fully competent, your hourly rate will go up.
- Finally, you will learn how to care for ventilated patients. Once training is completed and you are fully competent, your hourly rate will go up to £12.50 or probably more, as salaries are reviewed annually at Fairlie Healthcare
- Ensure the personal care needs of Residents are met and that assigned duties are executed in a professional and caring manner giving due regard to the Home’s core values and values framework and the Skills for Care Code of Conduct for Health and Social Care Workers
- Ensure documentation is completed in a timely fashion including personal care charts for Residents that reflect the care delivered and to escalate concerns regarding a Resident’s health and wellbeing to the nurse in charge at the earliest possible opportunity.
- Complete other assigned tasks not directly related to care as, from time to time instructed to do so by the nurse in charge of the shift.
