- Rail industry related experience in a similar role or identical role and proven success in the management of multi-disciplinary railway infrastructure projects.
- Broad experience of multi-disciplinary projects e.g.: new stations, footbridges, freight depots, car parks, feasibility studies, ideally in the Rail environment Comprehensive understanding of rail engineering
- Good knowledge and understanding of Rail structures standards, processes and procedures.
- Personal Track Safety (PTS) qualification.
- Construction Skills Certificate Scheme accreditation (CSCS).
- CITB, Construction Site Manager's Safety Training Certificate
- MCIOB 6 and/or7 (desirable)
- Full UK driving License
- Possess a construction or other technical related degree, preferably in engineering, or a minimum of HNC in a construction related discipline e.g. Construction Management, Civil Engineering (desirable)
- Working in liaison with the Project Manager and Snr Construction Manager to ensure regular, effective communication with the client and the Project Team.
- Supervising the implementation of projects to the agreed targets and Clients' satisfaction, ensuring the projects are delivered safely, and to the expected quality standard.
- To continually monitor project contractor's levels of performance and enforce health and safety legislation when required.
- Act as point of contact on construction and safety aspects of the project.
- Develop and maintain effective Client relationships with regular communicationr
- Manage and pro-actively mitigate risks to contractual performance and total project delivery, including anticipated problems as well as programme delays.
- Monitor plans for health, safety, quality and environment.
- Undertake and manage specific risk assessments with regard to health, safety and environment.
- Ensure that projects comply fully with all statutory and regulatory provisions including HMRI and the CDM Regulations.
- Liaise with the Commercial Team to ensure that project change controls are captured and managed accordingly.
- Attend project, management review and construction team meetings.
- Review all method statements and work package plans, through to ensuing completion.
- Manage site activities and interfaces related to handover and close out of projects.
- Provide construction advice / input to other disciplines
- Compile daily site diary and undertake regular site safety inspections.
