Are you an experienced Behaviour Support/Inclusion Worker? Do you have experience leading Teams of TAs or support staff? Then we have a role for you!Teaching Personnel are seeking a Behaviour Intervention Worker to support an SEMH school in Wakefield (WF4). The successful candidate will lead a team of behaviour staff and ensure the safety of students at all times.Main Duties:
  • Assist teaching staff in planning and preparing learning activities
  • Working with other staff in developing and writing additional support plans for individual students
  • Implementing individual support plans and contributing written reports
  • Working with individuals or small groups of students in activities to promote positive academic, social, emotional and behavioural outcomes
  • Providing access to the curriculum by supporting the re-integration of pupils into mainstream provision
  • Monitoring and recording the behaviour and achievements of pupils
  • The general management and support of pupils including supervision during morning breaks and lunchtimes as required
  • When deemed appropriate, using positive handling strategies, such as those utilised in Team Teach, to manage pupils affectively if they become aggressive, mediating in situation of conflict or distress and reporting the outcomes or issues
  • Liaising with parents and external agencies regarding the progress of pupils in line with policy
  • Advising staff in general behaviour management techniques and contributing to the behaviour management policy through teams' meetings
  • Maintaining the good order and high-quality learning environment of the school
  • To administer medicine and first aid to pupils when required as set out in the school and Trust policies and procedures
Requirements:
  • Eligibility to work in the UK or be a UK resident
  • Have an overseas criminal clearance or willing to apply for one
  • Have a child enhanced DBS on the update service or willing to apply for one
  • Previous or relevant experience working with SEND children
  • Previous experience leading a team
  • Minimum of three months UK residency
  • We do not accept those on skilled worker visas
