Job DescriptionFire Alarm EngineerJoin a leading Fire and security company specializing in the installation, maintenance, and servicing of fire alarm systems, UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) installations, sprinkler alarms, and evacuation alert systems.With a nationwide reach and a headquarters based in Epping, this role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical safety infrastructure projects across the south of England.Location: Epping (m25 reach)
Salary Range: £32,000 - £40,000 per annum + OTKey Responsibilities:
  • Install, commission, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Carry out installations and maintenance of UPS systems to ensure reliable power supply during emergencies.
  • Install, test, and service sprinkler alarms to ensure effective operation in case of fire incidents.
  • Implement and maintain evacuation alert systems to facilitate safe evacuation procedures during emergencies.
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine optimal system placement and configuration.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for fire alarm, UPS, sprinkler alarms, and evacuation alert systems.
  • Collaborate with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to deliver projects efficiently and to specifications.
  • Keep accurate records of work performed, including installation documentation, maintenance logs, and inspection reports.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, standards, and regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in installing and maintaining fire alarm systems, UPS installations, sprinkler alarms, and evacuation alert systems.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations and standards (e.g., BS 5839, BS 5266, etc.).
  • Electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2, 17th Edition Wiring Regulations, or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of low voltage electrical systems, including wiring, circuits, and components.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose and rectify faults efficiently.
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and colleagues.
  • Willingness to travel nationwide for project deployments.
  • Full UK driving license.
