- Work with plants on the development and implementation of environmental compliance programs, to ensure cost-effective compliance with the rules, regulations, and permits.
- Assist with technical staff review of applicable existing and proposed laws and regulations, as needed to support regulatory comments, legal actions, and company strategies and positions.
- Manage environmental report compilation, coordinate submittals with plants.
- Oversee federal, state, and local permit renewal and modification applications; track deadlines; and coordinate with sites on new or revised projects.
- Review projects related to development, construction, operation, repairs, renovations, and remediation to ensure compliance with federal state and local environmental regulations, including the oversight and submittal of timely permit applications and obtainment of permits
- Ensure environmental policies and procedures are developed, updated, and implemented.
- Maintain a collaborative partnership with the plant on environmental issues.
- Oversee periodic site environmental audits; evaluate environmental risks; and follow-up with corrective actions.
- Coordinate and lead environmental consulting efforts at the stations.
- Develop relationships with regulatory agencies, serving as the primary liaison.
- Minimum of 6 years of experience working with and providing oversight of environmental regulatory compliance (e.g. CCR, CWA, RCRA, CAA, etc.).
- Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications is applicable to above skills.
- Broad-based knowledge of environmental laws and regulations and state equivalent programs.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple activities at one time.
- Strong interpersonal and excellent written and oral communication skills, including procedures development and implementation.
- Experience with delivering communications and training related to environmental compliance, corrective actions, lessons learned, etc.
- Strong skillset in resolving technical issues, to ensure environmental compliance
- Proven project management skills
- Develop relationships with regulatory agencies, serving as the primary liaison
- Coordinate and lead environmental consulting efforts at the stations.
- Oversee plant personnel training in all aspects of environmental obligations, as it pertains to the site
