The position will be located at Westmead Hospital within the Department of Pain Medicine.Successful applicants will provide contemporary comprehensive Specialist Chronic Pain Management services at the primary facility and other facilities where applicable for optimal patient outcomes and provide clinical leadership, participate in quality improvement activities and provide training and education to clinicians across multiple disciplines to achieve quality education and safe clinical practice.Essential Requirements for Appointment1. Possess or be eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialists (State) Award.2. Must have Australian Citizenship or Permanent Australian Residency. Must hold a current NSW Environment Protection Authority license (if applicable)3. Sound clinical knowledge in Vascular Surgery demonstrated through successful clinical practice in an environment appropriate to the requirements of the position4. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:· High level interpersonal and communication skills.· Demonstrated ability working within a multidisciplinary team.· Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and evidence-based best practice.· Demonstrated commitment to teaching and supervision5. Familiarity with research concepts and commitment to support basic, applied or clinical research within the Department.Position Specific Selection Criteria1. Completed a Primary Fellowship in a designated Specialty recognized by AHPRA / AMC and Specialist Pain Medicine training with the award of the FFPMANZCA or equivalent, registrable by AHPRA.2. Prior experience in training and education.3. Preferable to have interventional pain management skills to enable minimally invasive pain interventions and neuromodulation.Selection Criteria1. Qualifications and credentials required for core scope of practice in the specialty.2. Evidence of additional qualifications, skills and/or experience required for specific scope of practice for the specialty3. Demonstrated skills and attitudes appropriate for practice as a Senior Medical Practitioner including:· Proven ability to work effectively and harmoniously with medical and other health services colleagues as part of a multi-disciplinary health care team.· Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.· Excellent organisational, supervision and collaboration skills with demonstrated ability to build respectful relationships.· Maintaining and developing knowledge, skills and professional performance to the level required for contemporary practice.· Experience and involvement in quality assurance activities and translation of research into practice to improve patient safety and quality.4. Demonstrated ability to manage time and resources efficiently and contributing to the effectiveness and efficiency of the health care system.5. Demonstrated aptitude for clinical leadership which is evidenced by:· Systems thinking and risk-taking aptitude.· commitment to self -care and personal development.· Capacity to maintain personal integrity, tolerate stress and demonstrate resilience.· Commitment to building relationships, leading, and developing others.· Results and outcome focused6.
