- Prepare the development of key project deliverables, including (but not limited to) the following:
- 3D model instrument scopes
- Layout drawings
- Instruments hookup/installations details
- Wiring / loop diagrams
- Panel and console drawings
- Instruments drawings list
- Logic diagrams
- Shutdown hierarchy drawings
- Schematic and block diagrams
- Materials schedules
- Telecom location plans
- MTO's & associated Bills of Material
- Building layouts
- Cable schedules/lists
- Cable sizing
- 3D Instrument modeling
- Detailed design drawings
- As-built drawings
- Participate in project reviews, including (but not limited to) the following:
- Model Reviews
- Independent Design Reviews (IDR)
- Prepare, issue and update material and weight data take-offs
- Participate in clash resolution meetings, as required
- Identify all items for which insufficient data is available to allow the drawing or model to be completed (HOLDS), and list these on the drawing and on the standard “HOLDS” list form. Notify the Discipline Lead Designer when there are updates to the holds list
- Development and support of vendor packages, including (but not limited to) the following:
- Create and issue required MTO for vendor package interfaces
- Review drawings issued by other disciplines and incorporate the required data into Discipline drawings
- Revie vendor drawings and documents and incorporate required vendor data into Discipline drawings and documents
- Assist in providing necessary design inputs to other disciplines to enable them in proceeding with their deliverables
- Site Support, including (but not limited to) the following:
- Provide technical support to Construction personnel for I&C design related inquiries as needed
- Project development and coordination activities (when acting as the Lead Designer), including (but not limited to) the following:
- Maintain and promote a focus on McDermott's end-product throughout engineering, fabrication or construction
- Take responsibility for vendor package review and associated interfaces
- Become fully familiar with the project contract, scope of work, basis of design, specifications, schedule and all inter-discipline requirements; including identifying concerns as early as practicable and taking appropriate initiatives to address the issues
- Coordinate closely with piping and I&C engineering with in-line dimensional data
- Report to and coordinate with engineering lead, as well as with instrument design manager
- Supervise and coordinate all activities associated with instrument designers
- Carefully evaluate, communicate and manage change with full awareness of project impact
- Assist the I&C lead engineer with cost, schedule, quantity, progress, budget control and quality of project deliverables
- Support model reviews
- Minimum 5-15 years of detailed instrument design experience
- Typically 6 - 15 years of I&C engineering experience on offshore projects.
- Function as an instrument project design lead or instrument task lead if required
- Working knowledge of design techniques, sequence of deliverables, and schedules
- Working knowledge of the content and application of standards, codes and guidelines, including ISA, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ANSI, and API
- Proven project coordination and execution skills in delivery of completed project design deliverables
- Experience with the utilization of multiple office project execution (MOPEX).
- Proven experience with S3D (PDMS).AutoCad, MS Office Suite including Excel and Word
- English Level B1; B2 desirable.
- Prefer AS degree
- Prefer experience on large cap EPC project
- Prefer experience at site during construction and commissioning
