- Conduct assessments to determine the severity of substance use disorders and develop individualized treatment plans.
- Provide counseling and therapy to clients, employing evidence-based interventions to promote recovery.
- Offer support and education to clients' families to help them understand and cope with the challenges of substance use disorders.
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, nurses, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest research and developments in substance use disorder treatments.
- Participate in ongoing training and supervision to enhance counseling skills and knowledge.
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, such as Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling, and one (1) year of related substance use disorder experience.
- Must be registered as a Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) with the Virginia Board of Counseling OR register to receive CSAC Supervision approval within 60 days of employment. A CSAC Supervisor will be provided.
- Must be registered with the Board of Counseling to practice as a QMHP-A OR register as a QMHP trainee within 30 days of employment.
