Offer DescriptionA 3 years PhD research position in France, Nice, University Côte d'Azur, in the field of sustainable and green polymers and composites for aerospace & space applicationsApplications are invited for a fully funded 3 years PhD studentship in synthetic organic & macromolecular chemistry and materials science under the supervisions of Pr. Alice MIJA at the University Côte d'Azur and Dr. Berengere DOLL, from the company TAS. The studentship will start on the fall 2024. Net salary ~2000 euros/month.Project: The central goal of this PhD project is to develop novel, sustainable and cost-competitive thermosets and composites for applications in aerospace and space industries. This work is in collaboration with Thales Alenia Space company and have a strong focus on the development and characterization of innovative and sustainable materials. Green chemistry processes will be applied to natural molecules, allowing access to the synthesize diverse sustainable monomers, for the production of high-performance thermosets and composites. The focus of this project will be to develop greener, intensified functionalization strategies using renewable and non-toxic synthons. This is a research area of great interest in academia and industry and truly represents a great opportunity for highly motivated graduate students.RequirementsResearch Field Chemistry Education Level Master Degree or equivalentSkills/QualificationsEligible candidates should have a Master degree in chemistry with an experience in organic and/or macromolecular synthesis or materials engineering. First-hand experience in fine chemistry is highly desirable.
