Plessey is seeking Shift Equipment Engineers, within the Metrology and Coring, Etch, Films, CMP and Photo Engineering. These are key roles reporting to the Lead Shift Engineer and will involve working in close collaboration with both engineering and manufacturing personnel.Main responsibilities may include:
  • Maintenance and repair of a wide spectrum of semiconductor electronic equipment.
  • Equipment qualification.
  • Support FAB production as required with gas bottle/chemical changes.
  • Member of site Emergency Response Team.
  • Ensure that quality and safety standards and procedures are adhered to on the defined equipment set.
  • Total support of a critical specialist equipment area including loading and unloading of product, maintenance / process monitoring / repairs and improvement activities.
  • Project work as agreed with team leader.
Key Skills and Experience
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience and solid understanding of maintenance, repair and fault finding of electrical / electronic / mechanical equipment.
  • Be committed and contribute towards a continuous improvement operating environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and work safely and effectively without close supervision.
  • Solid understanding of electro/mechanical systems which can be applied to new equipment types (how complex equipment systems operate).
  • Proven troubleshooting skills or ability to demonstrate this.
  • Strong fault finding and problem solving skills.
  • Good team working skills.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to use Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Organised, highly motivated and disciplined with a ‘Can Do’ attitude.
  • Knowledge / experience of maintenance and repair of any type of Semiconductor manufacturing equipment in a clean room environment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum HND/HNC level (or equivalent) in Electronic/Electrical/ Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical apprenticeship.
