Offer DescriptionPostdoctoral researcher expected to perform electrophysiological recordings in hippocampal area CA2 and CA1 in vivo and/or in acute hippocampal slices.The candidate will record synaptic and cellular activity in vivo and in acute hippocampal slices from hippocampal area CA2. Experiments will be discussed and results presented in weekly meetings with the team, and in data clubs with the Neuroscience department.The lab is located in the center of Paris, at the Jussieu campus of Sorbonne University. The windows of our lab overlook the Seine river. The project of this research will be to examine hippocampal area CA2, and specifically, to examine how the environment and experience alters the physiological properties of the neurons in this region in both healthy and diseased contexts. We are a small team consisting of one PhD, one engineer, one assistant engineer and Rebecca Piskorowski and several interns. Top-ranking candidates will also have had experience perfoming in vivo recordings. Applicants are expected to perform all analysis, experimental planning and figure preparation and data organization. It is desirable for candidates to have experience working with mice, and have completed European certified training for proper work with rodents in a laboratory.
