Our client specializes in providing comprehensive solutions, including the conversion of oil and biomass into cleaner fuels, the production and purification of major petrochemical intermediates, chemical recycling of plastics, natural gas treatment, and carbon capture. Their diverse portfolio encompasses cutting-edge technologies, equipment, furnaces, modular units, catalysts, adsorbents, and related services.As a Projects and Planning Engineer within the Project Operations team, you will be based at the Global Engineering Centre in Mumbai, India.Key Responsibilities:Project Control Activities:
- Develop procedures for various project control activities, including budget preparation, forecasts, progress validation, S-Curve analysis, and planning/scheduling functions.
- Manage planning and scheduling activities, including the development of summary and detailed project schedules, progress monitoring, schedule deviations, and workaround solutions. Also, oversee “Procurement Planning.”
- Resolve issues and ensure consistency between cost control, planning/scheduling, and estimating functions and deliverables.
- Collect and analyze data and information required for effective planning.
- Generate Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) in both percentage and quantitative terms.
- Allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines without compromising quality or safety.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and conduct problem-solving sessions.
- Monitor project expenses and report deviations from the budget.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements during project execution.
- Understand legal implications related to project execution activities.
- Create and maintain accurate project documentation.
- Prepare or assist in preparing both client and internal project reports.
- Provide daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports as required.
- Update schedules, produce exception reports, and recommend recovery plans.
- Prepare reports and analysis for internal and external meetings.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on progress, milestones, cost, and schedule variances.
- Set up periodic reviews of critical paths and interfaces between design, engineering, procurement, and execution.
- Set alerts for important contractual and milestone dates.
- Effectively communicate with the team on project control and risk issues.
- Consolidate, update, analyze, and manage project data.
- Seek feedback from team members and stakeholders to improve processes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree (B.E.) in Mechanical, Chemical, or E&I engineering.
- 5-10 years of experience, preferably with exposure to heaters, packages, or modules.
- Proficiency in working with Project Planning Tools (e.g., Primavera, MS Projects).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Self-initiation, organizational skills, and adherence to budgets and deadlines.
- Strong communication and presentation abilities.
