Job Title: Unqualified SEND Teaching AssistantSchool: SENDLocation: TauntonPay: £11.68 - £12.86 per hourAbout the roleI am currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to work in a specialist school to support children with additional needs such as autism and profound and multiple learning difficulties. You will be required to work with small groups or 1:1, supporting children with a range of ages and levels of learning.Prior school or SEND experience is desirable.About the schoolThis SEND school is based in the Taunton area. They support diverse group of pupils with a range of complex learning needs, disabilities and challenging behaviours.The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who thinks on their feet, is reliable, willing to go the extra mile and build positive relationships with students. Alongside this having a fun and energetic personality.There is potential for this to become a permanent position.RequirementsThe ideal Teaching Assistant will:
  • Have previous experience of working with children or young people; ideally within a school, nursery, childcare, youth work, play or care setting within the last 2 years.
  • Be enthusiastic and reliable
  • Have good communication skills
  • Be patient and resilient
  • Hold, or be prepared to pay for an Enhanced DBS, registered to the Update Service.
