Situated in just south of Cambridge, our location is easily accessible by car and conveniently close to the nearest rail station.The RoleCurrently, we are undergoing a significant product update to expand our line of radar systems. This update involves enhancing performance and introducing new capabilities, including updates to FPGAs and other programmable logic across our entire radar product range.As a member of our small yet highly skilled multidisciplinary engineering team, you will assume full responsibility for digital signal processing. Your tasks will encompass modeling, coding, verification, testing, and deployment of new FPGA designs for our latest advanced radar products.We believe in the importance of close teamwork and communication throughout the design, development, and delivery phases of our radar systems. Therefore, we offer hybrid working arrangements to facilitate both collaborative efforts and focused engineering work.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the DSP system design and architecture.
Design, develop, and verify FPGA code (VHDL or Verilog) using Xilinx design tools.
Develop software for testing and verifying FPGA code.
Lead field trials to evaluate signal processing performance.
Generate design documentation for effective communication within the engineering team.Qualifications, Experience, and SkillsDegree in engineering or a related technical field (or equivalent combination of experience and education).
Proficiency in using Xilinx design tools, such as Vivado, targeted at Zynq MPSoC or similar platforms.
Experience implementing signal processing algorithms with high-speed I/O in FPGA.
Understanding of high-speed digital circuit design for real-time systems.
Experience with design verification through simulation (SystemVerilog or similar) and hardware testing.
Proficiency in software design using C/C++, Python, or Rust.
Ability to operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analysers, and signal generators.
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills to facilitate hybrid office/home collaborative work.Additional Desirable RequirementsKnowledge of radar, sonar, or similar sensor systems.
Understanding of radar signal processing techniques.
Experience in embedded Linux C/C++ development.
Familiarity with Yocto and/or Petalinux build systems.
Familiarity with Xilinx HLS.
