Protocol Education is currently seeking a dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to work with children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in schools across Gateshead.We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Mental Health Support Worker. In this role, you will work with children who have a range of needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), complex learning disabilities, and those identified as having an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) in schools across Gateshead. You will be part of a supportive local authority committed to providing individualised support to help each child develop their self-esteem, achieve personal targets, and cultivate a love for learning. Our team of staff is dedicated to inspiring, motivating, challenging, and supporting each student, regardless of their individual needs.Position: Mental Health Support WorkerAs a Mental Health Support Worker, you will need to be adaptable and able to meet the unique needs of each student. You will use effective behaviour management techniques to create a positive learning environment and support students in their personal and academic growth.Role Description:
  • Provide mental health support to children with SEMH needs in schools across Gateshead
  • Work with children with a range of needs, including ASC, complex learning disabilities, and those with EHCPs
  • Be part of a supportive local authority committed to individualised support for each child
  • Inspire, motivate, challenge, and support each student, regardless of their needs
  • Create a positive learning environment and support students' personal and academic growth
  • Utilise effective behaviour management techniques
