You’ll also get to learn from us, develop your skills and gain valuable experience for wherever the future takes you.What will you do?As an intern within the Sizing & Morphology platform in Analytical R&D (ARD), your role will be to explore, create and develop advanced characterization methods for new mRNA vaccine projects to strengthen and expand the current knowledge of the vaccine technology.The Sizing & Morphology platform is responsible for the characterization of a wide range of vaccine attributes using various imagery-based and size-based technologies. The techniques comprise:MicroscopyElectron Microscopy (Cryo-TEM, NS, SEM), confocal microscopyNanoparticle tracking techniquesNTA, NanoFCMSizing techniques,AF4-MALS, DLS/MADLSYour role will be key in the development of these advanced characterization techniques, and you will be responsible in the team to support the project and communicate the outcomes.Your responsibilities:
  • You will develop methods in collaboration with team members in the laboratories located on the Rixensart site.
  • You will maintain knowledge of the scientific literature/technological advances related to the mRNA vaccines.
  • You will generate, interpret, and report results to the team and participate in team meetings.
  • You will be involved in generating appropriate analytical documentation, including protocols and reports.
  • You will present results at internal meetings (within the team and analytical sub teams, etc.).
What are we looking for?
  • Sound scientific methodology and thinking, commitment to solving problems and bringing innovative solutions to the team.
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills, ability to engage the team, result- and quality-oriented open mind.
  • A background in chemistry, biology, or related subject.
  • Knowledge in good laboratory practices and experience in a “wet” lab.
  • Ideally, awareness of at least one of the analytical techniques listed above.
