- Candidates with graduate-level education are encouraged to apply; however, preference may be given to those holding a Ph.D.
- A combination of relevant post-secondary experience and work-related experience could be considered,
- Minimum of 5 years related experience from candidates without a Ph.D.
- Excellent project and time management skills with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work well under pressure;
- A solid working knowledge of the Canadian research ecosystem with considerable experience in science communication and knowledge mobilization;
- Considerable experience developing multi-year budgets, in-kind valuations, and leveraging of funding;
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact productively and professionally with a wide range of internal and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with diverse groups on shared projects, with strategic planning, and in setting and achieving goals;
- Demonstrated ability to manage confidential and sensitive materials.
- Able to work non-standard schedules at times to deal with deadlines/travel.
- Demonstrated service orientation with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to innovate - to identify opportunities and take responsive action.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to critically read and interpret documents related to terms of agreements, financial obligations, legal liability, and risk mitigation.
- Strong numeracy skills;
- Considerable experience in a computerized work environment and proficiency in web-based applications, e-mail, and the use of spreadsheet, word processing, and visual presentation software including application submission and management portals.
- Demonstrated experience in planning, designing, and executing events.
- Understand communications strategies, marketing, media relations, and coordination of public events well enough to plan program activities in a way that supports appropriate marketing efforts.
