Location: Hammersmith and Fulham

The school is designed to support students who have been removed from mainstream education, with the goal of helping them reintegrate successfully. We cater to mainly behaviour-related issues, but also extend our support to emotionally and/or vulnerable students who have been out of education for an extended period. The smaller class sizes, typically ranging from 6 to 8 students, create an environment where personalised attention and tailored interventions are possible.Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support and assistance to students with diverse needs, including those with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to implement strategies to address behavioural challenges.
  • Engage students in activities that promote social, emotional, and academic development.
Ideal Candidate: GSL Education is seeking a confident and outgoing individual, akin to the qualities found in sports coaches. The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
  • The ability to remain composed and focused in challenging situations.
  • A self-assured demeanour to effectively engage and motivate students.
  • Understanding the unique challenges of each student and providing support accordingly.
  • Prepared to handle challenging behaviours, including verbal aggression, without reacting emotionally.
Additional Information:
  • Experience with smaller class sizes, ensuring a more personalised approach.
  • Please be aware that the unit operates with relatively low funding as we fall under the Local Authority.
  • The role may involve being sworn at and receiving personal comments; therefore, a resilient and composed approach is essential.
