Offer DescriptionESTABLISHMENT AND HOST LABORATORY STRATEGYDeployed within the PhyMedExp laboratory (UMR Inserm, UM, CNRS), CHIARA will have access to PROMESS data, a unique national cohort longitudinally following individuals at risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis and highly phenotyped in terms of exposome, clinical, and biological data. The junior professor will also have access to experimental data from the laboratory, including models of humanized mice with patient microbiomes and in vitro functional tests using patient serum. They may also have access to data from the CHU de Montpellier health data warehouse.CHIARA will be integrated both into the PhyMedExp laboratory (UMR Inserm, UM, CNRS) and into the University's AI ecosystem, in connection with the Montpellier University Hospital (CHU). Strongly positioned internationally (2nd globally in the Shanghai ranking in ecology) and nationally (1st French university in "life and earth science" in the Leiden ranking), the University of Montpellier conducts cutting-edge research in AI at its research units. The AI ecosystem is very dynamic in Montpellier, with over 200 AI researchers and more than 40 companies involved in a consortium supported by the local authorities and players such as the Eurobiomed cluster. CINES, a national centre, is based in Montpellier, with the ADASTRA machine offering world-class computing power with energy efficiency recognised as one of the best in the world. The ISDM-MESO mesocentre, attached to the Montpellier Data Science Institute, offers massive storage, intensive computing and cloud services that will be accessible to the site's partners (CIRAD, Inserm, Inria, INRAE, IRD, Montpellier University Hospital). The strong links with Montpellier University Hospital, which is HDS-certified, will also enable access to the labelled territorial health data warehouse. The CHU is working in partnership with ISDM to enrich textual data using generative AI, natural language engineering (LLM) and Machine Learning and Ops (MLops) on health data. The CHU is also planning to enable multimodal analysis, particularly with medical imaging, and is working on interfaces to enable human guarantees.TEACHING PROJECTThe CPJ will develop its teaching activities within the framework of the new training scheme run by the University of Montpellier (UM), entitled the "Digital Health School of the University of Montpellier" (ESNbyUM - PIA4 - France 2030 "Compétence et Métiers d'Avenir" - Digital Health Training strand). The UM is proposing to roll out the original concept of 'precision teaching in digital health', which aims to offer excellent personalised, interdisciplinary and inter-professional training that is open to the worlds of healthcare, research and business. The CPJ's themes fit perfectly with the skills blocks offered by the ESNbyUM, in particular 'Health Data' and 'Digital Security in Health', in which artificial intelligence applied to health and other data processing methods play a central role. The CPJ will develop its teaching project within a multidisciplinary teaching team.SCIENTIFIC PROJECTThe objectives of the CPJ will be to generate predictive models and biological hypotheses to explain the onset of rheumatoid arthritis using AI based on data from :- open-access data,- experimental models from the laboratory,- the PROMESS cohort. The biological hypotheses and predictive variables that emerge from this learning process will then be validated on experimental models in order to feed the automatic learning of the model. The CPJ will then use a virtual cohort to evaluate the performance of the prediction model. The PROMESS cohort is a national cohort of subjects at risk of rheumatoid arthritis, labelled and supported by the French rheumatology society, and will be run by Montpellier University Hospital. The integration of AI at the heart of research through the presence of the CPJ among researchers and clinicians will be a model that can then be deployed in other areas of the Biology and Health cluster.RESOURCES PROVIDED
