Supervise the day to day activities of warehouse operations including planning, organizing and controlling productivity to ensure goods are produced/received/managed/shipped efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard. This role is specific to managing the 2nd Shift Inventory team to complete inventory related tasks, while working closely with the Supervisor of 1st Shift Inventory to ensure as seamless operation.People management responsibilities include training, planning and assigning daily work, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. The supervisor is to work continuously towards making the organization more effective and productive, through utilization of business processes, common tools and business practices as well as looking for new and innovative ways to get work done in a safe and timely manner.What You Need to Know:Ensure team operates within and meets all safety standards, actively works to promote and improve safety within the facility.Analyze department production specifications and capacity data to determine processes, tools, and human resource requirements.Troubleshoots operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.Prepares productivity reports.Ensure that production schedules are attained daily while meeting safety, cost and quality objectivesCoach, train, develop and discipline employees to achieve facility goals and objectivesPro-actively use Lean tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality.Utilize accurate measurement tools to track area’s key indices to identify unfavorable trends and to take corrective action.Plans, schedules, coordinates and assigns work and establishes goals and priorities for department objectives.Review work upon completion as well as random spot checks for adherence to guidelines and standards and provide necessary feedback.Ensure associates are tasks within allowable time standards in order to maintain on-time performance.Ability to read departmental and product data sheets and confirm conformance to guidelines and specifications.Implements measures to improve productivity, equipment performance and quality of product; develops and oversees changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of the department.Plans priorities and the sequence of departmental tasksResponsible for the quantity and quality of production from warehouse operationsResolves operations and maintenance problems to prevent delaysInspects machines and equipment to ensure safe operation and optimum performance and utilizationProvide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices.Recommend methods for improving associate efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.Maintain and enhance existing safety policies and procedures for the distribution center operations.Continuously improve operations through the use of lean enterprise practices.Perform root cause analysis on receipt discrepancies by interacting with team members and other departmentsEnsure Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals are set, maintained and tracked daily for improvements. KPIs examples: safety incident prevention, cycle count completion, productivity metrics, quality metrics, and overtime management.Maintain high level of Quality, Customer Service, and regulatory compliance.Manage a safe work environment by advocating safety training, accident preparedness, and compliance with Company, OSHA, and other standards and regulations.
