Seize the opportunity: take your next step with us and join our team.Operator (Full Time) - Clarkson, ONThe function of this job is to operate and troubleshoot and repair the Carbon Dioxide Plant in a safe and efficient manner as described in various procedures, processes and regulatory requirements. Utilizing process knowledge, the process technician/ mechanic works in a team environment where individuals are empowered to set priorities and complete different activities with minimal supervision. Successful candidates must be able to work 8 hour shifts with 'on-call' requirements.Duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Implementation of operational discipline, principles, procedures and practices to ensure the safe and efficient operation of plant processes and equipment.
  • Operation, monitoring and inspection and repair of process equipment and conditions.
  • Interfacing with various electronic, pneumatic and PLC based control systems during start-up, analysis and continual operation of plant processes and equipment.
  • Use of troubleshooting skills to recognize and resolve process related deviations and problems.
  • Performing necessary repairs and assistance during plant turnarounds, equipment upgrades, refurbishments and preventative maintenance.
  • Use of process knowledge and skills towards productivity improvements and equipment reliability.
  • Professional communication between contractors, visitors, customers, colleagues and management.
QualificationsEducation, Technical and non-Technical:
  • Power Engineering Technology diploma, or an equivalent program.
  • TSSA Refrigeration Operator A or B certification,
  • TSSA Compressor Operator certification,3rd Class Stationary Engineer
  • Previous experience in a 24/7/365 process operations role.
  • 313A HVAC or 433A Millwright licensed
  • Motivated, self-starter capable of effectively managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to read and interpret various drawings such as: P&IDs and SWDs and supplier drawings.
  • Must have good computer and technical skills in order to learn how to operate both manual and highly automated process equipment
  • Must have the ability to recognize, understand, analyze, and resolve technical problems.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required
  • Must have strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must have a current and valid driver’s license
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job:
  • Ability to lift up to 25kg
  • Climb stairs and ladders
  • Work in tight and closed spaces
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment
