- Assisting the People and Culture Manager with managing and resolving non-complex employment relations issues, including grievances, complaints and performance management, escalating all complex matters to the People and Culture Manager
- Providing informed advice, coaching and empowering leaders in all matters related to people including providing support through the performance management and disciplinary investigation processes, as required
- Achieving a positive employee relation’s environment where employees are engaged and motivated
- Developing and coordinating employment-related documentation, including employment contracts, change of employment letters, position description updates
- Participating in HR reporting, analytics and special projects
- Identifying training needs and support with development on content, roll-out planning and delivery of training where appropriate
- Reviewing and responding to employee queries and feedback
- Assisting the P&C Manager with project-based work both at the state and national level
- Administration and coordination of Reward & Recognition Program and the Employee Referral Program
- Providing business leaders with feedback and education on all people processes
- Administration and coordination within the employment database and electronic employee files
- Any additional duties as requested by Management
- Assisting with and coordinating the recruitment and selection programs and processes for salaried appointments including the creation and posting of job ads, screening candidates, conducting phone/face to face interviews, conducting reference checks and reporting the suitability of candidates
- Facilitating and managing the induction process for salaried new starters
- Supporting with recruitment of other roles as required
- Being aware of and ensuring adherence to company policy and procedures regarding Health, Safety and Environment
- Participating in wellness training programs and take personal responsibility for his/her own wellbeing
- Assisting in building and improving the workplace culture regarding safety and wellbeing
- Actively promoting an ethics-based culture and ensuring that they are aware of and fully comply with the Company Code of Ethics
- Multiple years experience as a HR or IR advisor
- 3+ years of experience managing non-complex employee relations matters, including performance matters, investigations and terminations
- Qualification, or interest to obtain qualification, in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Psychology or similar (desirable)
- Excellent communication skills with an ability to present complex information simply, clearly and succinctly to a range of audiences
