Our plans to expand into the Greater Bay Area (GBA) will also cultivate talent to serve Hong Kong and the wider metropolitan GBA.For more information about the University, please visit https://www.hkmu.edu.hk.We are now looking for a suitable person to fill the following position in the School of Arts and Social Sciences:Assistant Manager (School of A&SS) (A&SS) (Ref: 24000QG)Major Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe appointee will be responsible mainly for the following:
  • Providing administrative support in the delivery of academic programmes, including but not limited to programme promotion, class scheduling, quality assurance of programmes and courses;
  • Coordinating student enrichment programmes such as internships, scholarships and experiential learning projects;
  • Planning, coordinating and managing School events and scholarly activities, such as Congregation ceremony, research seminars and programme promotional activities, etc.;
  • Formulating policy papers, proposals and reports pertaining to the operation of the School and its departments/programmes;
  • Administering research projects, including coordination of grant proposal submission, progress and budget monitoring, etc.;
  • Providing secretarial support to committees;
  • Supervising the junior staff; and
  • Performing any other duties as assigned.
CandidatesCandidates should possess the following qualifications, experience and competence:
  • A recognized degree with at least 5 years of relevant post-qualification experience;
  • Substantial administrative experience in tertiary education sector will be an advantage;
  • An excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with experience in professional writing in an academic setting;
  • Ability to work independently in a multi-tasked environment with initiative;
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
  • An analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work under pressure and within tight timelines; and
  • Strong computer literacy and numeracy skills.
