With 90% of their machines exported to an international market. The boutique business has a workforce of 12 employees, the opportunity has arisen due to retirement and to increase in market demand with the opportunity to develop new and existing products.Apply NowINDPERMSThe PersonAs the Design Manager you will spearhead the development of the product line, elevating existing products and developing new products. You will collaborate closely with the production team and ensure that every product not only meets but exceeds industry standards. You will have a strong engineering background with experience using AutoCAD, experience using Inventor & Vault preferred but not essential. The role will require site visits with some international travel for around 2 weeks per year of which you will be fully supported by the client.The job RoleYou will oversee every aspect of design, from initial concept to product validation. Your responsibilities include generating engineering data for new project assemblies and components, crafting both 2D and 3D drawings. Additionally, you'll collaborate closely with customers on new projects, ensuring that our designs not only meet but surpass their expectations.RequirementsQualified to HND/Degree level in an engineering discipline, ideally Mechanical or Product DesignYou must possess a sound knowledge of Heavy-duty mechanical engineering principles and product design processes.Possess at least 10 years’ experience working within a heavy duty manufacturing environment and experience within a senior management positionExperience with machinery automation, hydraulics and pneumatics would be advantageous.
