  • We are looking for a Senior CAD Engineer to join one of our Clients in Littlehampton.
  • The clients are a global leader in precision power conversion, providing highly engineered, mission-critical power solutions for leading technology companies.
  • You will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical design and PCB layout for new product developments from early concept to full production release.
  • Utilising CAD software 3D modelling of designs will be undertaken to ensure designs and details can be manufactured using latest technologies and will be cost effective.
  • Working closely with the rest of the product development team to ensure development costs and timescale are met.
You will be doing schematic capture from design engineer drawings and detailed layout of PCB designs incorporating the following technologies:
  • Create detailed mechanical design of high voltage power supply units including 3D modelling of the whole product, incorporating:
  • Innovate and incorporate latest technology developments into new designs.
  • Ensure best practices are ahered to for manufacturability and testability.
  • Create fully detailed documentation pack for new designs.
  • Work closely with project team to ensure relevant standards are adhered to
  • Support changes in product design via the ECO process during the life cycle of a product.
  • Working closely with the NPI team on product release from engineering to production.
  • Checking and approval of CAD drawings created by peers.
Responsibilities:PCB Design
  • PCB design utilizing CadStar PCB layout software.
  • Working and adhering to company procedures, design rules and product development process.
  • Compilation and release of all design and manufacturing data.
  • Support of supplier questions and queries.
  • Support of manufacturing questions and queries across worldwide manufacturing sites.
  • Update of design and drawings via ECO process.
Mechanical Design
  • Mechanical design utilizing Inventor mechanical modelling software.
  • Working and adhering to company procedures, design rules and product development process.
  • Compilation and release of all design and manufacturing data.
  • Support of supplier questions and queries.
  • Support of manufacturing questions and queries across worldwide manufacturing sites.
  • Update of design and drawings via ECO process.
General Expectations
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in compliance with company policies and procedures at all times (Health and Safety, Environmental and Compliance).
  • Time management and workload should constantly be reassessed to ensure good time utilization, excessive workload should be raised with your manager.
Requirements:
  • HNC/HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience
  • 5 years minimum experience in an electronics development environment.
  • 5 years minimum experience utilizing a CAD system for PCB layout.
  • 5 years minimum experience utilizing a CAD system for 3D modelling and mechanical design.
