- Payroll Processing: Manage end-to-end payroll processing activities, including but not limited to calculating wages, overtime, bonuses, and deductions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and relevant regulations
- Systems Management: Oversee payroll software systems, ensuring they are properly configured and updated to reflect changes in regulations, company policies, and employee data
- Data Analysis: Analyze payroll data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement. Generate reports and insights to support decision-making by management
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements. Stay informed about changes in legislation and update payroll processes accordingly (Both United States and Canada)
- Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve payroll-related issues, including discrepancies in timesheets, pay rates, and tax withholdings. Provide support to employees with payroll inquiries and concerns
- Audits: Prepare and assist with internal and external payroll audits. Maintain accurate records and documentation to support audit processes
- Collaboration: Work closely with HR, finance, and other departments to coordinate payroll activities, address cross-functional issues, and implement process improvements
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to payroll staff and other relevant stakeholders on payroll processes, policies, and systems
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects related to payroll, such as system upgrades, process automation initiatives, and mergers/acquisitions
- This is a remote position based in the United States with little to no travel
- 5+ years of experience in payroll processing and analysis
- Proficiency in UltiPro payroll software or similar HRIS (Human Resources Information System) platforms is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements in both the United States and Canada
- Process equity (stock plan and ESPP), commissions, and incentives
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
- Attention to detail and accuracy, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field is preferred
