Step Teachers is currently seeking a Humanities Teacher for a permanent position at a local secondary school in Bury St Edmunds. The role will commence in September 2024.The school boasts a "Good" Ofsted rating, indicating that students make excellent progress and achieve well. Under the guidance of a strong headteacher, the newest Humanities Teacher will have the opportunity to support students and contribute to the school's ongoing development.Role of a History Teacher:
  • Good knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Humanities curriculum
  • Able to plan and deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons
  • Maintain an organised and professional classroom with all of the associated resources
  • Work effectively with other members of staff, both within the department and throughout the school
  • Ability to assess students, monitor their progress, and provide constructive feedback
  • Compliance with the schools’ policies and the reliable implementation of these
History Teacher Requirements:
  • Hold QTS or an equivalent qualification for teaching in Secondary School
  • Have recent mainstream school-based experience as a Humanities Teacher
  • Have a good level of classroom and behaviour management
  • A relevant Humanities related degree is desirable
  • SEND experience is desirable
