Komatsu supports a myriad of markets, including housing, infrastructure, water, pipeline, minerals, automobile, aerospace, electronics and medical, through its many brands and subsidiaries, including TimberPro, Joy, P&H, Montabert, Modular Mining Systems, Hensley Industries, NTC, and Gigaphoton.Job OverviewKomatsu Company Stores East is pleased to offer an Internship, Diesel Technician opportunity to students currently enrolled at Penn College of Technology.This opportunity will provide the Intern, Diesel Technician the opportunity to work along-side a skilled Diesel Technician and learn the fundamentals of Shop Safety, Hydraulics, Electrical, Undercarriages, Powertrains, Engines, etc.Key Job Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate safe shop working practices;
  • Perform basic diagnosis procedures on equipment utilizing current test equipment;
  • Prepare and follow specific repair orders;
  • Employ service manuals and instructions in prescribing corrective repairs;
  • Perform basic maintenance and repair on equipment;
  • Follow work directives;
  • Collaborate with other employees;
  • Report to work on time and on a regular basis and record a minimum of 240 total hours; and
  • Follow employer policies and procedures;
  • Presentation of Capstone Project
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Be enrolled in the appropriate degree program in the department in which you intend to serve the internship and have completed the appropriate prerequisites or have the permission of the Internship Faculty.
  • Have completed a minimum of 15 credits (or as otherwise required by the department or course abstract) with an overall cumulative grade-point average (GPA) of 2.0 or better.
  • Identify employer/placement where you will work.
  • Present for the Internship Faculty's approval a completed Internship Training Agreement signed by the employer and the student.
  • Complete an Application for Internship form.
  • Register and pay for Penn College tuition, following the appropriate scheduling procedure for the internship as determined by the department.
  • Soft Skills: Must have Excellent written and verbal communications. Ability to multi-task, manage deadlines and easily adapt to new challenges and business working environment. Strong motivation to make contributions to Komatsu and strong motivation to drive results.
  • PC Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office specifically with Excel (Pivot Tables), Power Point (slide presentations) and other summary and analysis tools. Must demonstrate good analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required.
