1. Develop and drive a culture of continuous improvement within RAC UK. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gain insights and direction.
2. Analyse existing systems and processes and identify value-added and non-value-added activities to solve design challenges.
3. Analyse data and look for trends to identify opportunities for process improvements, cost savings and waste reduction.
4. Identify and improve manufacturing profitability through productivity improvement and safety improvement.
5. Create and maintain required documentation for manufacturing processes, including flow charts, capacity and utilisation studies, time and motion studies, standard work, cycle time analysis, and line balancing.
6. Provide technical support in departmental training, working closely with the training department.
7. Recommend process improvements to streamline product flow and champion implementation of process improvements/lean manufacturing concepts for the department.
8. Analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment placement to maximise manufacturing efficiency.
9. Create new processes and procedures to help the company meet budgetary and performance goals.Please see attached job description for more dutiesEssential Criteria:
  • Minimum Third Level Qualification in an engineering discipline (HNC, HND, Foundation Degree)
  • Minimum 3 years experience in a Continuous Improvement role in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous experience of implementing improvements by utilising Continuous Improvement tools/ techniques
  • Sound knowledge of Lean Methodologies
  • IT literate, proficient in MS Excel
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Good project management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to see activities through to completion
  • Ability to work effectively on own initiative and effectively contribute within a team environment
Desirable Criteria:
  • 6 Sigma Green Belt
  • 6 Sigma Black Belt
  • Value Stream Mapping experience
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems
