LocationEducation AffiliatesPositionInstructional Designer-068854Job DescriptionOverview:Education Affiliates is seeking a dedicated and innovative Instructional Designer to join our dynamic Curriculum Department. As a key member of the curriculum team, you will play a pivotal role in the oversight, development, implementation, and enhancement of residential, general education, and hybrid educational programs across various programs in higher education.Summary:The Instructional Designer (ID) designs program and curriculum development projects for new and existing programs at Education Affiliates' (EA) schools and colleges. Thoroughly embracing EA's vision, mission, and values, the ID is essential in the curriculum design and development process that includes the updating of existing courses, and development of new courses. Under the guidance of the Director of Curriculum Development, the ID ensures that a new or existing course is designed to make the class most beneficial to students in each program of study.An ID must have a desire to enhance and improve in-person and online instructional materials. They must follow Education Affiliates guidelines, policies, and regulations as they pertain to curriculum in career education. A successful ID will work well in groups and be able to develop curriculum, collaborate with faculty, program directors and other members for content expertise and guidance of the curriculum. At a national level, an ID will be responsible for providing guidance and receiving direction from multiple curriculum committeesRequirementsPosition Requirements:The candidate for this position shall meet the following requirements:
  • Master's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum Development, or related field (Ph.D. preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or educational technology, preferably in higher education or online learning environments.
  • Proficiency in instructional design theories, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g., ADDIE, SAM, Universal Design for Learning).
  • Strong technical skills in educational technologies, learning management systems (Canvas), multimedia authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate), and web-based applications.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Experience with accessibility standards, copyright laws, and intellectual property rights in online education is desirable
