- Performing duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures applying ionizing radiation for the purpose of detecting pathology.

- Adjusts and controls complex electronic equipment in applying ionizing radiation for radiographic and fluoroscopic mammographic examinations.
- Prepares and positions patient prior to procedures to ensure their safety and to obtain desired reports for diagnostic purposes.
- Calculates and selects appropriate equipment and technical factors such as proper type of film and amount of kilovolts or milliamperes.
- Maintains working condition of all equipment and reports any malfunctions or needs for adjustments to appropriate personnel.
- Accurately documents and notates technical and clinical information.
- Assists in maintaining sanitary condition of radiology area.
- Instructs various hospital staff about techniques and procedures relating to radiology as requested, including Radiation safety.
- Maintains awareness of patient's anxiety level, adjusts skill levels to accommodate patient's physical and emotional comfort, and assures patient's comfort during procedure while obtaining quality mammograms.
- Performs an average of 50 mammograms per month.
- Obtains complete patient history.
- Stays abreast of current developments in field by reviewing available literature and attending appropriate programs.
- Complies with FDA and ACR requirements as well as AGMC standards.
- Continually works to anticipate and exceed the needs and expectations of customers.
- Properly evaluates requisitions including identifying patient and procedure to be performed.
- Follows radiation protection procedure.
- Complies with all Radiology Information System entry requirements for accurate patient, film, supply, tracking monitors.
- Assists and supports the Radiologic student program, specifically the clinical aspect. Provides supervision and feedback to students as they perform procedures. Reviews images with students on request and provides quarterly evaluations of students to clinical instructions for formal reviews.
- Follows hospital and department policies and procedures with special attention to attendance and punctuality, confidentiality, dress code and display of ID badge, and safety.
- Completes mandatory education and training in order to maintain organization and department specific competencies and requirements. Maintains applicable certification/licensure.
- Other duties as assigned
- Completion of Radiologic Technology programs from approved schools.
- Registered with American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Advanced certification in mammography ARRT. Current license in the State of Ohio.
- Maintains competencies specific to patient population served.
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required
